Empower Every Child to Write for 1,500 Children is a literacy project by Suubi Youth Empowerment Initiative Uganda (SYEI Uganda) that aims to improve writing skills among 1,500 children, particularly those from underserved communities. The project is designed to help children develop confidence in expressing their ideas, strengthen their communication skills, and improve their academic performance through quality writing instruction and practice.

The initiative provides creative writing workshops, reading and writing clubs, access to age-appropriate books and learning materials, writing competitions, mentorship from teachers and volunteers, and opportunities for children to publish or showcase their work. It also works with schools, parents, and community leaders to create supportive environments that encourage regular reading and writing.

By promoting literacy from an early age, the project seeks to address learning gaps, inspire creativity, and prepare children with the foundational skills they need to succeed in school and later in life. Beyond improving literacy, the initiative nurtures critical thinking, self-expression, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Sponsor & Mentor 1,500 Girls in Eastern Uganda is a proposed initiative by Suubi Youth Empowerment Initiative Uganda aims at improving education, leadership, and life opportunities for vulnerable adolescent girls in Eastern Uganda.

The project seeks to support 1,500 girls aged 10–19 across selected districts in Eastern Uganda by removing barriers that prevent them from staying in school and reaching their full potential. Through education sponsorship, mentorship, life skills training, and community engagement, the initiative aims to reduce school dropout rates, early marriages, teenage pregnancies, and gender-based inequalities.The project aim to  empower 1,500 vulnerable girls with education, mentorship, and essential life skills so they can complete their education, become confident leaders, and contribute positively to their communities.

Objectives

• Sponsor school fees, scholastic materials, uniforms, and menstrual hygiene supplies for vulnerable girls.

• Provide regular mentorship from women leaders and trained community mentors.

• Deliver life skills training on leadership, financial literacy, digital literacy, reproductive health, and career planning.

• Strengthen parental and community support for girls’ education.

• Establish girls’ clubs and peer support networks in participating schools.

• Improve school retention, academic performance, and transition to higher education or vocational training.
